Italian Honeymoon Love Shoot in Rome

Honeymoon love shoots are my new favorite thing, guys! Honestly, what better time to do a photo shoot than right after your wedding when you're basking in that amazing marital bliss? All the stress of wedding planning is gone - you're carefree and just relaxing with your honey. And chances are, you're already in a beautiful (read: photogenic!!) spot so why not squeeze in a little shoot between those cocktails and seeing the sights? That's just what Marie and Jon did - after getting married at the stunning Magnolia Plantation and Gardens in Charleston, SC, the couple honeymooned in Rome and decided a love shoot would be the perfect way to capture this happy time in their lives.  / Photos by Teresa, of In Love in Italy.

Says Marie, "We had our photographs taken on our belated honeymoon to Rome. From the very beginning, [our photographer,] Teresa was so friendly and wonderful with ideas of where to visit and what to do while we were in Italy. I love that I not only found an amazing photographer, but also a friend! We walked all over Rome during our shoot and I love that we got to showcase more than one location in that beautiful city in our photographs! The pictures are fantastic and I will treasure them and our trip to Rome forever."

The couple started the day early in the morning at Trevi Fountain (perhaps that's why it's not too crowded!) ;) and then headed to Trinità dei Monti for a beautiful view of the city and Villa Borghese for a sweet stroll.

Marie leaves us with some parting advice on having your photos taken abroad during your honeymoon: "I definitely think that doing it after you have been in that city for a day or two is a good idea. That way, you know where you are going and might have another idea of where you might like to shoot after actually being there and seeing things in person. Definitely bring comfortable shoes to walk in and fabulous shoes to shoot in!"

I have to chime in and second Marie's shoe tip! When J&I did our 2-part Paris love shoot (early morning to dusk!), I was sooooo incredibly glad I brought a pair of comfy ballet flats to wear while we walked from one location to the next. We probably logged a few miles that day and I can't imagine having done it in the cute heels that you see in our photos. ;)

What do you think? Are you planning a honeymoon love shoot? If so, tell us where you're headed in the comments. :)
