Gift Ideas for Father's Day

The fact that Father's Day is coming up is crazy to me! That means we're halfway through the year, guys. How did this happen?! Though I won't be spending Father's Day with my dad this year, I will definitely be sending him a gift! A few actually, since his birthday is 2 days after Father's Day. I had to share this really cool way to preserve a bunch of favorite memories for my dad. 

My dad owns his own business and often works from home, so when I found this wood block that came with some printed pictures, I thought it'd be a fun way to dress up his office. 2016 was a big year for our family-- both my brother and I got married months a part from one another! So I knew displaying some moments from those two days + some favorite memories over the years would be great. 

I even browsed the site and got some really good ideas for our one year anniversary, coming in September! It's safe to say that if I ever need to print images or give a gift with pictures, I'll be heading straight for Artifact Uprising. The quality is so good! Here are just a few pictures of what I got. Last year we got my dad a pair of Sperry's and he loved them. They live in California, so he can pretty much wear those year round! My dad also wears ties a lot, so that's always a safe option. I've gotten him a few chambray shirts before and they are some of his favorites. When I saw this one above, I knew I had to include it since it was such a hit for my own dad!

Happy Memorial Day!

What vibrant Memorial Day color palette inspiration, right?! I've always loved the classic red, white and blue palette, but when you throw in some blush as an accent, I love it even more!

I couldn't let this day go by without writing about my sincere gratitude for and sheer awe for our troops. They are our heros. It's easy to live a comfortable life here and forget that our freedom was and is fought for, every day by real people, who have real families, making sacrifices every day. Happy Easter!

Spring is such an anticipated season for me, especially since living in the Midwest. The blankets of snow melt away, trees start to blossom and birds begin chirping yet again, like every year before. Sometimes in the dead of winter, I wonder if spring will ever come. Sometimes I forget spring is a promise. Glorious, new days are on their way, even when I think the hopeless, dark days of winter will stick around forever. Spring is a tangible reminder of new life, hope, and restoration.

It's fitting then, that spring coincides with Easter, as Easter is a celebration of the new life we are offered in Jesus, the hope we have in heaven and the restoration God brings to His children. We are forgiven because Christ died for us, in our place. There is so much to be thankful for!

I can't believe we're about to ring in the new year! I know, I know...we haven't even gotten through Christmas yet, but I had to share some super fun entertaining pieces I found for New Years Eve! Happy Veteran's Day! I am so grateful for all the men and women who serve and protect our country. May we never forget how much of a sacrifice some are making for many. In light of this very politically fired-up week, I know a few things for sure: I'm glad the election is over, from the craziness that the election brought I am reminded that I want to serve and love others better, we are so blessed to live in this free nation, God is always in control no matter the outcome or circumstances & red, white and blue will always be a winning color combination.
