Classic Style File: Timeless Black and White Stripes

Stripes will always be a classic design staple and good news: They're oh-so-BIG this year. I've always had a fondness for black and white stripes - there's something so clean and crisp and direct about the look. I've actually been looking for ways to incorporate more stripes in our home {re-upholstering some French chairs, adding a tablecloth, throw pillows, etc.} but I think black and white stripes would make an excellent statement for a wedding and I absolutely loved how Jaimee incorporated the theme in her Parisian elopement that I shared not too long ago on the blog:

While the stripes in this Parisian wedding come across as dramatic, moody + sexy, they can easily be tailored to feel more playful, flirty and fun by adding another color in the mix - kelly green or marigold yellow are always winners!

One of my favorite ideas for incorporating stripes into a wedding is having the 'maids wear voluminous striped skirts with simple oxford button-ups or tanks on top - statement necklaces could be used to inject some color.

Shoes could be another fun way to incorporate stripes in your wedding - I'm loving these striped heels for a black-tie event!
