CB is Loving Vango: The Source for Original + Affordable Art (Perfect for Wedding Gifts!)

If you're anything like I was during wedding planning, you already own a Dyson and several sets of dishes and the idea of a registry may seem outdated and superfluous. J&I chose to not do a registry at all - we told guests that their presence was gift enough but if they were so compelled they could donate to a charity of our choice. Well, guess what? That didn't work exactly as we planned - we still ended up with a small mountain of gifts! :) We discovered that people just really want to buy wedding gifts which was pretty heart-warming, to say the least. While J&I certainly didn't need any of the gifts we received, I really enjoy using the pieces we received from friends and family and they bring back such good memories of our wedding weekend. My point to this long story is that if you don't need towels or skillets, help your guests out and give them a bit of direction toward gifts that you'll truly love. Today, I'm going to share Vango with you - which may be the perfect answer to a registry for the couple who already has everything!

Vango offers original art at affordable prices (they were just named a best new app by Apple!) and my favorite part is you can see the paintings hanging virtually in your space to help decide which pieces are right for you:

I was so excited about this concept that when I was offered the chance to try it out, I hopped right on board. The Vango app is available on iOS so I grabbed my iPhone and started looking at all of the art available. They stock everything from abstracts to landscapes to portraits, all original. Luckily, there's an ability to 'favorite' which helped to narrow my choices down. I then used the share ability on the app to get some feedback from my Mom to see what she thought. It was still hard to choose a piece but I know I made the right choice with Mark Pizza's Deserted Road:

I placed my order and the gorgeous painting arrived a few weeks later with a personal note from the artist which was a lovely surprise! Thanks to the 'virtual hanging' feature on the Vango app, I already knew right where I wanted to hang this beauty - right above our bar:

I love the colors of Mark's painting - depending on my mood, it sometimes reminds me of the ocean and sometimes the West Texas desert (which J&I just came back from - I'll share a travel guide to Marfa soon!) even though it was actually inspired by New England!

Here's a few of the other pretties I considered. I obviously prefer blues - they're just so chill. You can check out the entire collection on Pinterest or via the app.

All in all, I think art can be a lovely and personal gift - everyone loves owning an original piece. And with super friendly price points, I think Vango would be a terrific addition to a wedding registry. Let me know what you think! Would you register for original art?
